How do we know that the Roman Empire really existed? ; None of us were there to see it.
If you use that line of reasoning I'm surprised that you have faith in a collection of copies of ancient Middle Eastern books which clearly have no bearing on the present.

When I was growing up on the Lie, I can remember listening to a radio program with my mother about strange luminous balls of fire coming out of kitchen appliances called ball lightening. It was all very weird and scary. My mother was adament that it was the demunz and we had to be strong in the truff and it wouldn't happen to us. Frightened the bejesus outta me as a kid.
